The youngest of four children, … Sis. Barbara Haggerty has always had a passion as well as a gift for the ministry of music.  Her exposure and love for directing started with Sis. Annie Hogan and the Texas North East choir over fifty years.  Through her association with Annie Hogan, Barbara was afforded the opportunity to travel across the United States.  In her travels to conventions and different music workshops, she had the opportunity to participate in workshop and convention choirs with such recording artists as Mattie Moss Clark, Kitty Parham and Ernest Gray just to name a few.  When she was not traveling, Barbara was attending East Texas University where she was studying to receive a degree in Sociology.  Also while attending college; she started her first gospel college group (The Gospel Challengers).  During her college tenure, she took fellowship with Full Gospel Holy Temple, in Dallas, Texas where she later became minister of music.  One of her early accomplishments was organizing the Full Gospel Holy Temple’s recording and traveling choir.  In 1989, through this choir, she produced her first recording By The Grace of God.  From this recording she received awards for most outstanding new song of the year and best new songwriter of the year I the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

In the early nineties, God opened doors for her travel to Europe to conduct a workshop in Germany.  From there other workshops followed which included the states of Florida North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.  In 1995, God blessed her to meet recording artist Edwin Hawkins and through him, she was invited to Toledo Ohio to record Jesus Can with Edwin Hawkins Music and Art Seminar Choir.  Jesus Can was written by Sis. Barbara Haggerty.  Each year she continues to work with the local and convention choirs.
